Rental Property (Leaky Bathtubs and Lots of Grass)
I decided to tackle the growing mold spot in my basement bathroom and try to deduce what was causing it. It wasn’t there when I moved in, but it spread surprisingly quick. It took over some thin paneling. Ripping out the paneling was easy. It just broke apart. The back of the paneling had lots of nice, dark mold. I did my best to hold my breath and put it into a garbage bag.
After taking out the moldy paneling, I found out the leak was coming from the upstairs bathtub, not from condensation buildup like I originally thought. But, no matter how much troubleshooting and testing I did, I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from, and it only happened when someone took a shower. Made me think that someone was purposely dumping water out of the shower when taking a shower. I ran the shower for twenty minutes and no leak.
Mowing season started. I had to mow the back yard too, even though there’s hardly any grass back there, just weeds. I took out an ugly stump (without the help of a reciprocating saw) and killed some nice flowers. There was some poison ivy that went unchecked, and I’d rather not have poison ivy than have pretty flowers.
Lending
Lending is officially done. I think it was a useful experience. I learned a lot of wonderful things about human nature.
Web Development
I worked on a client’s website a little more, and I added a lot of features to my little web app for creating tasks.
